Here's an electronic arrangement I did of an old Ghana folk song from West Africa. The lyrics tell the tale of a hawk named Sansa Kroma who when in flight one day happened upon a flock of orphaned hawk chicks. Circling above them for some time, she then snatched them up, took them back to her nest, and raised them as if they were her own.

During a retreat at our property in the Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts, a very special being taught us this song around the fire one night, and when we all sang it together, I felt such a sense of family, of light, and of connection. For me, it was one of the most memorable moments of the whole weekend, and in honor of such a powerfully moving experience, I felt inspired to realize the vision of creating this rendition in turn.

The moral that I take away from the story is that no matter how lost or lonely we may feel in life, we are never alone and we will always be taken care of. When we have the eyes to see, when we have the ears to hear, and when we allow our hearts to guide the way, we will find our tribe. We will realize that family is everywhere we look, that they seek us just as much as we seek them. <3
